Home School Labs: Happening Now!

It's been a great year of home school education for kids involved in the Edgerton Center's home school education programs. Home schoolers who have attended our programs hosted in North Platte and at the Edgerton Center in Aurora have benefited from our great programming and affordable admissions.

From the early days of the EEC's home school programming when only a few children from the local area attended, the program has since grown exponentially. Over 100 a month attend events held in Aurora, and more than 50 attend in North Platte. This fall, 188 children attend our EEC home school lab, "Explore The Wonderful World of Worms!" Our home school program continues to expand with services in Aurora and North Platte.

Two more sessions remain for this year, and registration is still available:

Thursday, March 3 @ Aurora: Blood & Guts!
Wednesday, March 9 @ North Platte: Bungie Boogie Baby! (Home schoolers bring their Barbie doll or action figure, use their physics skills to create and test a bungy cord.)

To enroll, contact the Edgerton Center at (402) 694-4032. Admission is free for Edgerton members. Non-members pay the standard cost of admission, $5.

The NMA works to support and unite the state's museum organizations and preserve cultural heritage across the state. Since the Association was formed in 1990, the NMA has worked on a number of projects, from needs assessment guidelines for cultural materials to grant workshops to help museums collect financial support. As the director of one of Nebraska's leading players in innovative science education and outreach, Ken Schroeder will bring valuable experience to his role as president of the Association.
